This is the first of a future series of photographs that will fall under the subject title, "Sea Creatures." I intend on starting with 5 photographs of various hydrophilic animals cropped upon a surface, a different surface for each animal. At this stage I'm gathering surfaces that will have a similar feel to the one in this image here; heavily distressed or unrefined. I think it will be a challenge when I attempt to shoot an invertebrate like an octopus or something similar. Keeping it's natural form may take some creativity.

New Work Update
I just shot some new samples for my book, which I have up on my site already. I'm really happy with the way they turned out, and especially happy to produce a successful roasted chicken shot. I intended to create a larger scale table scene with another roasted chicken and some sides including various roasted root vegetables and couple drams of bourbon (Eagle Rare 10yr Single Barrel, my favorite at the moment) but the bird had an odd shape and wouldn't cooperate for the camera. But after acquiescing I pulled together some elements from the shot and some props intended for other shot ideas and made a nice photograph; it's the shot of a pewter plate holding root veggies with a dram of whiskey on the side. Here they are:
